A third-generation Yellow Jacket, Carson Hooper followed in her mother's footsteps by attending Tech and joining Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT).
As a teenager, she briefly rebelled against the idea of going to Georgia Tech, but came around to it when she decided to pursue engineering — which turned out to be, she says, the best decision ever.
Hooper hiked, climbed, and trekked all over the country on her way to serving as president of ORGT. She graduated this weekend with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering.
“There’s great power in getting outside and getting off campus for a little bit.”
