Sudie P. Davis, an Academic Advisor II at ISyE, has been elected as the Georgia Liaison to the Global Community for Academic Advising (NACADA) Region 4 Steering Committee, a significant achievement for our advising community.
Over the next two years, Davis will play a vital role in shaping strategic goals for the region, administering the regional awards program, and representing Georgia's membership within NACADA.
NACADA serves as the premier professional organization for higher education academic advisors, covering Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and the Caribbean Islands within Region 4.
Established in 1979, NACADA provides various professional development and networking opportunities for its members. The association also supports student success at the institutional level through consulting services, surveys, and the Excellence in Academic Advising program.
Before joining Georgia Tech, she advised students in diverse fields at Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University. She holds a bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University and a master's degree from Georgia State University, focusing her research on inequities in higher education.
Congratulations to Davis on her well-deserved election, and we look forward to her continued contributions to our advising community!
