Saia is an American trucking company, or a less than truckload (LTL) trucking company, that originated in Houma, Louisiana in 1924. Saia ranks within the top ten of LTL carriers in the United States, yielding $1.2 billion in 2016. Saia has 175 terminals and services the lower 48 states. Saia handles over 30,000 shipments per day.

Project Description

Currently Saia delivers 30,000 shipments a day and operates 175 terminal across the lower 48. A vast majority of these shipments touch more than 1 of our terminals and is a part of our cross dock operation. We are looking to reimagine our cross dock operation. We would like to create a dynamic routing tool for the over 2,000 forklifts currently running in our terminals.This would increase utilization of our dock employees, increase throughput of the cross dock operation, and minimize 'empty fork' time for our forklift operators.
