Founded by Garrett Stigall and Guy Gober, recent engineering graduates from the University of Georgia, the company emerged from a desire to create more efficient, sustainable methods for maintaining pools. With their combined expertise in the pool industry and engineering, Garrett and Guy developed S.A.M., a cutting-edge device that utilizes advanced ultrasonic technology to prevent algae growth, significantly reducing the need for chemicals and making pool care simpler and more cost-effective.



S.A.M. is the flagship product of Pool Protection Technologies, designed to revolutionize the way pool owners manage algae control and chemical usage. Unlike traditional methods that rely heavily on chemicals, S.A.M. employs proprietary ultrasonic technology to keep pools clean and algae-free. This advanced technology emits high-frequency sound waves that disrupt algae cells at a microscopic level, preventing them from forming and spreading throughout the pool. The result is a crystal-clear pool with significantly reduced chemical use, making S.A.M. not just a maintenance tool but a game-changer in pool care.

Project Description

Pool Protection Technologies is embarking on an exciting new project aimed at enhancing the design and scalability of our flagship product, S.A.M. Our current units have been successful in delivering exceptional performance, but we are now focused on refining and optimizing the product to meet the demands of a broader market. This project will center on minimizing the design of S.A.M., transitioning from our current 10-inch model to a more compact 8-inch version.



In addition to downsizing the physical dimensions, we are committed to improving the overall system design to enhance the product's manufacturability on a mass scale. Our goal is to create a more efficient, streamlined design that retains the high performance of the current model while enabling us to scale production to meet increasing demand. This updated design will allow Pool Protection Technologies to produce S.A.M. more cost-effectively, ensuring that our innovative pool maintenance solution is accessible to a wider audience while maintaining the superior quality our customers expect.
