Rainbow Village is a non-profit organization in Duluth, GA, providing transitional housing and comprehensive support to families experiencing homelessness.



Residents receive a fully furnished apartment, a dedicated success coach, access to an after-school program for children 18 and under, and regular personal and professional development workshops. Families may stay in the program for up to two years. Upon departure, alumni keep their furniture and household goods and remain eligible for continued support and guidance for up to three years. Many residents and alumni also qualify for microgrant opportunities that further support their stability and growth.

Project Description

Client Need:

Rainbow Village currently operates 30 apartments, offering safe, stable housing and supportive services as families work toward self-sufficiency. A $15 million capital campaign is underway to expand the campus with 36 additional apartments—more than doubling capacity and impact.



To support this growth, Rainbow Village is seeking a user-friendly digital platform that streamlines communication, appointment management, document sharing, and program engagement between residents and staff. This platform should serve as a central hub, enhancing the resident experience while supporting the program’s five core pillars:

Family Stability, Well-Being, Financial Management, Training & Education, and Employment & Career Development.



Given the number of families served and the sensitive nature of the information exchanged, it is critical that the platform provides:



A clean, intuitive dashboard summarizing upcoming appointments, messages, and action items



Secure document upload functionality to protect confidential information



Seamless appointment scheduling with automated reminders to support program compliance



A dynamic resource portal with access to community services, educational content, and program policies in various formats (PDFs, videos, guides)



A goal tracker that visually displays progress toward individual milestones and program completion



Rainbow Village seeks a proposal that leverages process improvement, technology, and user-centered design to:



Enhance the resident experience and increase engagement



Improve efficiency in case management, communication, and document sharing



Ensure secure handling of sensitive data with robust privacy controls and HIPAA compliance



Support measurable progress tracking and integrate goal-setting tools that motivate residents and promote accountability



Enable structured, two-way communication between residents and staff, including categorized messages and quick response options



Provide a resource portal offering easy access to community services, educational materials, and program policies



Include a community event calendar with optional attendance tracking features



Integrate with existing systems such as Casebook and Microsoft calendars to maintain workflow efficiency
