Dr. Lei Xu is an Assistant Professor at George Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjing University and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at Georgia Tech. Before joining GTSI, she was Research Scientist at Smart City, Transportation, Logistics Big Data Lab in the Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Dr. Xu holds a B.E. degree in Transportation Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2015) and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Singapore (2020). From 2015-2020 she was affiliated with the Future Resilient Systems (FRS) program at the Singapore-ETH Centre. Her research methodologies include operations research, operations management, and data-driven decision making. She has published papers in peer-reviewed journals including Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part C, Computers & Operations Research, and Reliability Engineering & System Safety. Currently she is actively working on Humanitarian Logistics and Nonprofit Organizations aiming to boost socially responsible operations. She and her students are involved in the "Digital Red Cross Construction" to promote smart nonprofits and improve nonprofits' efficiency.
